  Carl Haefele (1848-1924) was born in Unterheimbach between Heilbronn and Schwäbisch Hall (Southern Germany). In 1863 he entered the "8th Württemberg Infantry Regiment", which was later renamed "8th Infantry Regiment No. 126 Grand Duke Friedrich of Baden". Carl Haefele always remained with his regiment, from which he was, in September 1910, Music director left. Haefele died in 1924 in Strasbourg (France).
