    Karel Kovarovic (1862-1920) was a Czech composer and conductor.
    He studied clarinet, harp and piano at the Prague Conservatory and at Zdenek Fibich. From 1900 he was an opera director at the Prague National Theater. Kovarovic is mainly known for his popular salon music.
    His most famous work is the Havírská Polka.
    In 1910 he was appointed an officer of the Académie Française.
