  Genaro Codina (born September 10, 1852 in Zacatecas, died November15, 1901) was a Mexican composer.
  There is very little known about the artistic career and the activities of Codina.

  It is known that he composed many marches and dances, and in later years also directed the "Orquesta Típica Zacatecana"
  and with him concert tours to Mexico City and to the USA.

  Codina was honored after his death as the great son of the city.
