  Johann Strauss (1825-1899) he can be regarded as the most popular musician and composer of his time. Even his first appearance at the Casino Dommayer on October 15, 1844 is a giant success. After the death of his father in 1849 he took over his orchestra and became 1863 to the k.k. Courtball music director. Strauss composes 15 operettas, almost five hundred waltzes, polkas and quadrilles, a ballet and an opera.

  Johann Strauss died on June 3, 1899 at the age of 74 in Vienna.
