  • "Unter dem Doppeladler"

    March by Josef Franz Wagner
    ca.: 3:25 Min
    Grade 3
    Arr.: Achim Graf, Peter Welte

Josef Franz Wagner (1856 - 1908) was an Austrian military conductor and composer.
He was a military chaplain with the "Infantry regiments No. 47 and No. 49". Besides his dance compositions, his marches were popular. His contemporaries described him as the "Austrian Marching King".

His most famous work is the march "Under the Double Eagle" (op. 159) from 1893, named after the double-eagle in the coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian empire. It is today the official march of the "First Austrian Artillery Regiment".
