  Beethoven's "12 German Dances", WoO 13, were originally written for orchestra and are probably written around 1796/97 on the occasion of a masquerade in "k.u.k. Small Redoutensaal "in Vienna.
  Unfortunately, the orchestral score has been lost, only a copy of Beethoven's own Piano version, which also served as the basis for this edition, is preserved.
